Startup Your Point reinforces incentive to the development of ideas

The pre-acceleration programme for business ideas of Startup Braga, promoted in partnership with the Academic Association of the University of Minho (AAUMinho), distinguished three business ideas in the areas of digital economy and health technologies. The return of the Startup Your Point programme to the face-to-face format, after having taken place only in virtual format in 2020, ended with the distinction of the three best business ideas involved in the 2021 edition.

From the batch of seven projects selected to attend Startup Your Point, the ideas presented by the teams Muximuxic, Hyg go and Ovantis stood out as the ones with the greatest potential, winning a monetary prize to set them up as companies. The Muximuxic project also guaranteed access to a year of incubation in Startup Braga.

With more than 30 hours of training and the involvement of about 20 trainers and mentors linked to the innovation hub community, Luís Rodrigues, director of Startup Braga, highlights the bet "on the reinforcement of training hours, which gave even more working time to the teams, translated into the sustained development of the projects involved in the programme and, as a consequence, to the fast evolution of the projects".

The director of Startup Braga also underlines that this pre-acceleration programme "is essential to support young entrepreneurs, whether they are students or researchers, since this is, in many cases, the first contact with tools associated with business development".

Startup Braga intends, through programmes such as Startup Your Point, to reinforce its connection to higher education institutions, as well as to research and development centres, in order to enhance the transfer of knowledge to society by encouraging entrepreneurship.

It should be remembered that, in the previous editions of Startup Braga's pre-acceleration programme, more than 70 business ideas passed through, with part of them later becoming start-ups.
