What is Startup Point?

This is a program designed by Startup Braga, in partnership with Liftoff - Entrepreneurship Hub and START POINT by Academic Associaton of University of Minho (AAUMinho) to help you:

1. better understand the problem you are solving,
2. validate and define the business model, through a set of bootcamps concentrated during a specific period of time.
   

At the end of this program, you should have a clear definition of who your potential customer is and the basic characteristics that your product should have.

Who can apply?

We are looking for entrepreneurs with undefined product ideas and no customers.

The program is open to all teams with innovative and technological projects, preferably in one of the verticals of Startup Braga: Digital Economy, Health Technologies, Biotechnology, Nanotechnology, and Sustainability.

Students from Portuguese Higher Education, public or private, and the whole community with an entrepreneurial spirit, ideas, motivation, creativity, and/or capacity for initiative can participate in this program. However, students from UMinho will have priority in obtaining vacancies, if the limit of applications is exceeded.

Startup Point kicked off on February 26th at the University of Minho premises, and the agenda was as follows:

    February, 26th:

        14h - 15h | Kick-off & Startup Mindset

        15h - 18h | Bootcamp 1 - Ideation

    February, 27th to 29th: Individual mentoring sessions: schedule set according to the availability of teams and mentors

    March, 1st:

        14h - 16H | Bootcamp 2 - Business Model Design

    March, 4th to 6th: Individual mentoring sessions: schedule set according to the availability of teams and mentors

     March, 7th:

        14h - 18h | Bootcamp 3 - Go to Market

        14h - 18h | Bootcamp 4 - Finance for Startups

     March, 8th to 12th: Individual mentoring sessions: schedule set according to the availability of teams and mentors

     March, 14th:

        14h - 18h | Bootcamp 5 - Pitching & Storytelling

How to participate?

Currently, applications for the next edition of Startup Point are not yet open. Participation is subject to selection and requires submitting an application via an online form. After submission, the application will be carefully evaluated by the Startup Braga and AAUMinho teams. Pre-selected projects will be contacted to schedule a brief interview.

Note: Teams must consist of 2 to 4 members!
